Typhoon No. 26

Typhoon 26 is approaching the Japanese archipelago.

The typhoon is forecast to make its closest approach to the Tokai region early tomorrow morning.

台風26

As expected, the typhoon is large and powerful, so the rain and wind are already getting stronger.

I'm worried about the wind and rain tomorrow morning,

This typhoon is moving fast and the intervals between the isobars are very narrow.

I am very worried about the northerly winds that will blow back after the typhoon passes.

天気図

Forecast as of 9:00 AM on October 16th

Depending on the wind this time, not only the tea seedlings,

I am very worried that this will also have an impact on naturally grown tea plantations.

If the tea leaves are rubbed together by the wind, it will affect the new tea for next year.

It will have some impact.

I can only pray that the damage will be as minimal as possible.

I am also very concerned about the developments in the next issue, No. 27.

We promoted tea, a specialty of Aichi Prefecture, at the Aichi Prefecture Tea Ceremony.

At the Aichi Prefectural Tea Ceremony held at the Aichi Prefectural Government Office yesterday, October 13th

I attended as the chairman of the Aichi Prefecture Tea Industry Youth Association.

The tea ceremony was hosted by Governor Omura and was held in an outdoor setting.IMG_4776_R

Aichi Prefecture is the second largest producer of tencha (the raw material for matcha) in Japan after Kyoto.

The governor himself promoted Aichi tea.

I also explained to the attendees about tea, a specialty of Aichi Prefecture.

Everyone was given "chaberin dango" to take home as a souvenir from the tea ceremony.IMG_4781_R

"Chaberin Dango" was featured in the Japan Agricultural Newspaper.

We hope that it will become a specialty product of Toyota City and Aichi Prefecture as well.

I want to make something better.

Newly planted tea fields during Typhoon No. 24

There have been a lot of typhoons this year.

Typhoon No. 24, which we were worried about, passed by in the Sea of Japan off the coast of the Noto Peninsula, turning into a temperate depression.

tenki

When Typhoon No. 18 hit Aichi Prefecture last time, all 5,000 tea seedlings planted this year were knocked down, and it was a struggle to reposition each one by hand.

I was terrified by this typhoon, but when I went to check on the tea plantation after the typhoon had passed, I was relieved to see that the tea plants were safe and had not fallen over.

IMG_4717_RA typhoon is expected to approach next week, but I hope there will be no damage.

This food education event was an event to consider dietary balance. By pasting photos of side dishes and other foods onto a bento sheet while considering dietary balance, participants had the opportunity to simulate the experience of making a well-balanced bento.

Chaberin Dango was used as a gift after the experience.

The chaberin dango was also well received by the children who tried it.
