A nostalgic fan from my predecessor

A neighbor brought me an old fan.

I'm not sure exactly how old it is, but it's a fan from the generation before last.

The name of the previous owner, "Noba Takayoshi," is written on it.

Were they given out as prizes or promotional material?

It's in very good condition,

It must have been tucked away securely in the back.

Takakaen Garden during the Hekikai County era

Looking at the address...

Not Toyota City, but Hekikai County.

This area used to be part of Hekikai County, along with Kariya City and Anjo City.

In 1965, Yoshiwara, Takaoka Town, was incorporated into Toyota City from Hekikai County.

It looks like a fan from before the 1950s.

Call Takaoka at number 14.

It's a number that's hard to imagine now.

This is a fan that makes you feel very nostalgic.

Since we had the chance, we have it on display in our store.

Please take a look if you are interested.

We had them see the naturally cultivated tea plantation and the young tea plantation.

On the left is hand-picked for natural training.

The mature tree is about 30 years old.

On the right is the young tea plantation that was replanted this year.

The young tree on the right is a 50-year-old mature tree that was uprooted and replanted this year.

The tea seedlings planted this year will not be able to be harvested until five years have passed.

We went to the Takakaen store, talking about various things, including the struggles we had faced.

This food is from the tea-producing areas of the Mikawa region, and in the past was served at gatherings.

There are many different types of chameshi all over the country, but the chameshi of this region uses tea leaves before they are ground into tencha (matcha).

We have prepared our newly replanted hand-picked matcha tea garden for winter this spring.

In the tea garden that was newly planted this spring,

This autumn, several typhoons approached Aichi Prefecture.

As a result, all 5,000 tea seedlings were tilted.

I had to manually put the seedlings back in twice.

This year has been a year of severe weather changes, including droughts and typhoons.

The cold winter weather and the Ibuki oroshi, a northwesterly seasonal wind unique to this region, are coming soon.

I hope they survive the harsh winter and grow healthy.
