This is an announcement about applications for the "Cajon," an instrument made from Toyota wood.
The cajon is a percussion instrument that originated in Peru.
This instrument is made from Toyota wood.

Location: Hidamari (next to Takakaen)
8 participants (Elementary school students and above. Lower elementary students must be accompanied by an adult. Adults can also participate alone.)
Participation fee: 5,000 yen (including materials)

We had a tea picking experience at Toyota Co-op "Meglia".
On Wednesday, May 14th, we held a tea picking experience at Toyota Co-op "Meglia".

The number of applicants was more than doubled,
There were about 30 winners in attendance.

This time, we are using natural hand-picked tea plants,

(At our tea farm, if the tea is harvested by machine, we offer a simple tea picking experience.

Chameshi is a traditional food of the Mikawa tea region.
There are many different types of chameshi across the country, but in Mikawa they use tencha tea leaves, which are the tea leaves before they are ground into matcha.

It is sold at Takakoen and is made using only hand-picked tencha.
They were able to experience tea and spend a different time than usual.

From now on, we will be hand-picking for about a month (throughout May).
As of 10am today, there were 40 people picking tea, but by the evening, about 60 people had come to pick tea.
On average, about 50 to 60 tea pickers come each day, and the total number of people picking tea is between 1,200 and 1,500.
Takakaen does not have any tea fields for tea competitions.
All of this is tea that we deliver to our customers.
Therefore, we ask you to pick all of the greens using the traditional "shigoki-tsumi" method.
Wages are calculated based on the amount of work harvested, not by the hour.
Despite this, the tea pickers still come and enjoy themselves.
