Tea pickers and hand-picked tea rice

The hand-picking of matcha tea is finally coming to an end.
This year, many tea pickers came,
About 70 people helped out every day.
There are several hand-picked tea fields scattered across the country.
Today, here is 80aA field full of hand-picked tea leaves.

A pleasant sunny day in May.
Perhaps the athletic meet also had an impact.
This year, the number is slightly lower at 50.

Hand-picked tea rice
To the tea pickers who came,
With gratitude
Traditional food unique to a tea region,
We served tea rice.

Last year, the tea was hand-picked by a tea picker.
This is tea rice made with matcha tea leaves, tencha.
Thank you again this year.

Every year, tea rice is served without any prior notice.
Some people said they were glad they were able to eat it this year.
April 30th ~
We start picking the new sprouts of Sencha tea to be used for Fukamushi tea.
Currently, the new matcha buds are being picked by hand.
Only a few left.
Thank you very much.
