We participated in the Great Nagoya Tours Tea Picking Experience.

Naturally grown hand-picked experience

First, picking tea leaves.

Currently, hand-picking of Sencha tea has ended,

Visit a naturally grown matcha tea plantation.

Takakoen is dotted with naturally grown, hand-picked tea fields.

This site covers an area of 8 tan (2,400 tsubo).

Of course, everything is picked by hand.

 

The next row (near the front) of the image shows the finished picking.

The tea plants have already been cut down.

 

How to pick it:

"Shigoki-tsumi" is a method unique to Aichi Prefecture.

The experience took place in a slightly brighter tea plantation.

We had a matcha latte collaboration,

This time, you can enjoy some early new matcha tea.

The first harvest of matcha is not in May, but in autumn after the summer has passed.

It is picked in May,

Let it mature a little before serving.

 

On October 16th, we will be serving fresh, naturally-brewed, hand-picked matcha.

We sell it in small portions in the amount you like.

 

You can also sample the drinks.

 

We also have hand-picked tea rice.

It is held on the 3rd floor of the Meguria main store.

We are exhibiting at the "Tokai 3 Prefectures Fair."

The fair and exhibition period will run from September 21st to September 27th.

We had a tea picking experience with the "Tea Range Team" at Toyota City Wakazono Community Center.

This is an event hosted by the Wakazono Community Center in the area.

Every other year, we hold a tea picking experience at Takakaen's tea fields.

This time it was full in 10 minutes.

They came by train from Meitetsu Wakabayashi Station,

17 people participated, some of whom came by bicycle.

Students from Nagoya University came to pick tea leaves.

 

Experience tea picking in the season of fresh greenery ~Learn about tea from the highest ranking tea farmer in Aichi Prefecture~

This time, we picked tea leaves in a naturally cultivated tea plantation.

The 16th "Ofukuichi" was held.

This time it's spring break,

We had a mini experience together with the morning market.

Japanese Food Culture Lecture for Foreigners

"Compare stone-ground matcha and tea tasting"

The event will be held in the cooking practice room on the 2nd floor of the Toyota Industrial Culture Center.

There are lessons on how to make tea, experiences of grinding matcha with a stone mill, experiences of making and tasting hand-picked matcha,

Make matcha ice cream, try traditional Mikawa hand-picked tea rice, and more.

This is a packed course where you can enjoy tea with all five senses.

 

Limited to the first 20 people (ages 6 and over)

The cost is 500 yen

Explanations will be given in both Japanese and English.

Participants are foreign residents of Toyota City and the surrounding area, along with their accompanying Japanese companions.
