Health seminar "Common knowledge about blood pressure and techniques for preventing high blood pressure!" held at Toyota City Wakazono Community Center

So I gave a lecture on tea.

Summer vacation special event "Ofukuichi" hands-on learning (workshop)

The 18th Ofukuichi Market

Since it's July, we will be holding a special summer vacation event and hands-on workshops.

Date and time: Saturday, July 16, 2016

Time: 10:00-12:00 (excluding bread-making classes)

Location: Multi-generational Salon Hidamari (next to Takakoen)

 

The courses you can try out are

 

Part 1

Nori-making experience and nori-tasting  Lecturer: Hiroshi Sakai (Sakai Nori Shop)

You will make nori seaweed, a process that people used to do by hand in the past.

We will make nori using fresh nori from Aichi and dry it in the sun. We will also compare the taste of nori harvested in various regions.

Comes with a souvenir of seaweed

Start time 10:00~ / 10:30~ / 11:00~ / 11:30~

Capacity: 5 people each (20 people in total)

Participation fee: 200 yen (includes nori-suki experience, taste comparison, and instructor fee)

No application required: Registration opens on the day

 

 

Part 2

Let's knead and make your own bread Instructor: Mikako Fujii(Machupan Owner)

Knead the dough and make your favorite shape of bread. After making it, you can eat it or take it home.

The instructor, Mr. Fujii, was the first manager of the Toyota store of Dashenka Na. He is a professional who has been teaching bread at various Dashenka stores for many years. He is currently the owner of the new store, "Machupan."

Start time: 9:30 to 13:00

Capacity: 8 people. Participation requirements: None, but younger children may be accompanied by a parent (nursery school children must be consulted).

Participation fee: 1,500 yen (including materials and instructor fees)

What to bring: Apron, bandana, towel (for drying hands), take-out boxes or bags (makes about 6)

 

Part 3

Wood strap making instructor: Donguri Kobo (Inabu)

Draw your favorite picture on scraps of wood from Inabu, Toyota, and connect the wood beads to make your own original strap.

Of course, you can take home the original strap you made.

Start time: 10:00

Participation fee: 300 yen (including materials and instructor fee)

No application required: Registration opens on the day

 

Part 4

Tea Kabuki Instructor Yoshitaka Noba(Takakoen Garden Owner)

Guess the type of tea by tasting it. Winner of the Kyoto Prefecture Tea Judging Skills Competition (Tea Kabuki is one of the events in the Judging Skills Competition).

Learn from the owner of Takakaen, the highest-ranking tea judging technique in Aichi Prefecture.

There will also be prizes.

Start time: 10:00

Capacity: 5 people per shift (total 20-35 people)

Participation fee: 200 yen (including materials and instructor fees)

No application required: Registration opens on the day

 

Part 5

To the parents waiting...

A full body massage from the soles of the feet to the shoulders without using herbal tea oil, with clothes on.

Start time: 10:00 Participation fee: 15-minute course 500 yen 30-minute course 1000 yen (includes original herbal tea)

Application: Advance reservations accepted or reservations accepted on the day of opening

Tea picking experience for foreigners

We held a tea picking experience for foreigners.

Not just cars,

They came by train from Meitetsu Wakabayashi Station,

17 people participated, some of whom came by bicycle.

Students from Nagoya University came to pick tea leaves.

 

Experience tea picking in the season of fresh greenery ~Learn about tea from the highest ranking tea farmer in Aichi Prefecture~

This time, we picked tea leaves in a naturally cultivated tea plantation.

Japanese Food Culture Lecture for Foreigners

"Compare stone-ground matcha and tea tasting"

The event will be held in the cooking practice room on the 2nd floor of the Toyota Industrial Culture Center.

There are lessons on how to make tea, experiences of grinding matcha with a stone mill, experiences of making and tasting hand-picked matcha,

Make matcha ice cream, try traditional Mikawa hand-picked tea rice, and more.

This is a packed course where you can enjoy tea with all five senses.

 

Limited to the first 20 people (ages 6 and over)

The cost is 500 yen

Explanations will be given in both Japanese and English.

Participants are foreign residents of Toyota City and the surrounding area, along with their accompanying Japanese companions.
